We are not the doers .
The sole motivator and doer is the One observing the one we think we are , the great Witness or Soul . The Actor . The one that is aware of your joy and your pain , without being touched the least . The I from I am .
That One is beyond all appearances , beyond all changes , and we all are It . From That one silence emerge all sounds and from that one Space occur all forms . Anything else, resides outside , and belongs to the impermanent world of decay , untruth and ups and downs . Body and mind , remain outsiders , including the thoughts from the conscious state and the dreams from the subconscious state .
The body and mind , quite excelling at imitation are totally incapable of creation , being themselves a product of It . Just as a computer is totally unable to create its own new software , without the help of its engineer .
Art originates from beyond , and pulsating with the thrill of life , allows for the visualization of Truth and the blissful experience of being .
Indeed there is no difference of quality between creating a universe , and a work of art , just a difference of quantity . But then , do you need to drink the entire ocean to know its taste ?
So understand that the only limitation to Art is the artist .
Therefore , let us short circuit the deceptive body and mind , the only resistances between Creativity and Creation , and reach the Beyond within .
1) Recognize the obvious limitations of the outsiders , and especially the narrowness of imagination . Truth is so much more fun than fiction .
2) Surrender to the will of the soul . The Universe , will then start the process of using you , not for your tiny individual prospects , but for the welfare of all that is . Being a process , you will develop the ability , to attune to the universal program , and become more efficient with every new experience .
3) Accept lovingly the non understandable but nevertheless extremely consistent creative power using you for the benefit of all .
4) Develop an enormous love to be of good use as an instrument , and the limitless ambition to serve . After all , anything else is waste of life . It takes many years to change motivation , from being a gigantesque selfish ego thing with an individualistic goal attached to successes or failures , to becoming a good instrument , in the hands of the Everything . Without past or future , the process remains its own reward , and generates largely enough surprises to pay for the rent of life .
How do we proceed toward that silence and space ?
5) An instrumentalist can only learn how not to be a non instrumentalist . It is a process of developing the hearing faculty , without brainy hindrance . That is Intuition , the mother of all intelligences . We cannot learn to be , as we are already , but we can unlearn how not to be , fooled by the role . When the actress plays a sick old women at the theater , does she come back home , still playing at the sick old women ?
6) For no control , or ownership . On the contrary , loving to be a servant, with the only goal to develop into a better one , more harmonious to all , more essential .Be confident that you belong to a formidable team , for which the limit is much further than the sky .
7) For simplicity , over complications . The things required for any specific work are always at hand . If things get complicate , you are on the wrong track .The instrumentalist walks , one step at a time , with total ignorance , of the following ones . That requires a good deal of courage , and confidence , do . Just one step at a time . That s not complicate . Just keep going .
8) For recognizing that there are no mistakes , only opportunities , no imperfections , only perfect ones , no waste , the universe being extremely efficient , and interactive ( one stone , many kicks ) , no accidents , everything having a good reason to be , no luck , good or bad , that Chaos is a human misunderstanding , even so the Loving creative Power loves to appear uncertain ( unboring , surprising , actual )
9) For listening and visualizing , versus speaking and making choices . The instrumentalist knows , that given a crossroad , it is not a body and mind that decide which way to go , but it is your deservedness , that guides you toward the most beneficial side at the moment ,for you . Indeed learn to follow the promptings from within , without paying the least interest to the blabbering of the ignorant brain .
10) For abolishing preconceived ideas , and preferences . The famous “ You will not judge “ so hard to understand , non mentioning , to practice .
11) To understand , that understanding is limited , and doesn’t go farther than the outside , therefore exchanging it for Faith , trust and confidence , immensely more permanent values .
12) For taking the credit , an immediate talent killer . For not taking the credit , an immediate talent enhancer .
13) For minimum intervention . Do not forget that we are the limitation . You should be able to discover the total picture of the puzzle with as few pieces as possible . There is a zone in everything , space , form , colour , contrast and even meaning , a very narrow zone , out of which death and inertia reigns . The more the intervention , the more the limitation , the less the authenticity and vitality .
14 ) For not believing , but experiencing , and many a time , crying for its great beauty , goodness and elegance , and above all , its Reality . We are One , but we are not lonely .
15 ) To know that every smart rule has a valid exception . For example , in the rule of minimum intervention , occurs times of mega intervention , in which case the rule of minimum intervention still applies .The famous 95 % rule which stipulates that 5 % is enough for the revelator to breath and keep things vibrating . A lesson for the perfectionists , who unknowingly by aiming at 100 % are actually howling for boredom and stagnation .
16 ) For using all our tools available , including the body and the mind , in no resistance mode .You will have to learn to differentiate between genuine message and wishful thinking . Listening involves : Logic , common sense and wisdom , memory , knowledge , throwing a paper with yes or no , fearlessness , Love and gratefulness , and subliminal to all , Intuition , like the rope assuring the mountaineers of their solidarity .
17 ) Instrumentalism doesn’t make you , the best , but , at your best . It brings
you to your upmost potential . What else do you want ?
Instrumentalism is a way of life . It is not limited to Art . There is nothing that is not permeated by Truth . By becoming a better instrument , you will learn how to play tennis more efficiently , also .
